There are, broadly speaking, two conceptual frameworks for how we approach child-rearing, politically speaking: The "village," as popularized by Hillary Clinton's 1996 book on parenting, and the "family," as conceived by cultural conservatives such as Rick Santorum. As part of our show on motherhood, Chris and the panelists ask: Which of these frameworks actually values and supports family life more? And why are Americans apparently so hostile to the model of government-supported child care that has taken hold throughout the rest of the industrialized world?

Why has advangelico and conservative religions strayed away from the deeper meaning of Christianity and spiritual understanding? And why has it identified its image and framework into 'form'...an outward image instead of an iternal search for truth?
This is the present situation of most common religions today. As a matter of fact, this is what Jesus Christ was trying to impart to the multitudes two thousand years ago. When representatives of the church indulge into politics, it says 'real' understanding of religion has begun to atrophy.
Getting back to 'form', it seems the more conservative beliefs gravitate around this label. Thinking right, doing right, saying the right thing....as far as being part of the congregation....seems to be the correct thing to do. And one of the main particles of this kind of thinking is, "no change".
Remember the movie, "Pleasantville"? That is the ideal utopia of the religious thinking. If things were like they were back in the 50's, everything would be perfect.
Trouble is, no one told them that GOD never mentioned that human beings were suppose to adhere to a certain set of moral ideals. If he had, he would've told us so. He did give us a certain set of rules to go by called, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. But other than that, he left the whole experience on this plane....planet earth, up to us.
Rick Santorum and others like him want the rest of us to fall in line according to his morality and ideals. What he doesn't realize, is he forgot to go within and find the real meaning of GOD, ones real self. That is what is truly lacking in Santorum's thinking.
But that's ok....his soul level is young and we've all been there....at his level. Perhaps a few more life times and he and the others will be where Jesus Christ was so trying to impart to us.
