If you watched the re-airing of the first hour of Up w/ Chris today at 3 pm, we unfortunately had to cut the conversation short -- but you can continue the discussion with us here, by watching the second half of the program below. Chris and his guests -- including Hawaii congressional candidate Tulsi Gabbard, Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes and Jeremy Scahill of The Nation -- continue their discussion of President Obama's foreign policy record, and dive into the new, secret science of presidential campaigning. And if you're new to the program, we hope you'll join us for our regular time slot, Saturdays and Sundays at 8 AM ET on MSNBC.

Mr. Scahill is very passionate and angry about the Drone Program and the very sad deaths of the Americans overseas. I would like to appreciate his position more and it would be helpful if he offered some solutions to consider. Raging against the President seems futile. His anger is palpable and apart from the fact that his rage causes him to run issues together, the anger went unaddressed by Chris Hayes. Mr. Scahill sounds dangerous and may have been adversely effected by what he has witnessed in his work. There is so much hatred towards the President and I hope that Mr. Scahill can separate his disdain for the policies from a personal disdain for Mr. Obama. He is clearly anti-war, anti-drone and anti the killing of innocent (on the killing of innocents I agree) but I also want him to say more on how he would fight the war on terror and keep the country safe. I also would like to know if he feels as passionately about domestic killings. There's a lot of violence at home and abroad. His presentation today was frightening and did not come across as one that believes in peace. It does not seem that such anger can coexist with a desire for peace. Our war correspondants do a vital service in reporting and their news organizations would do well not to let them burnout.
> I hope that Mr. Scahill can separate his disdain for the policies from a personal disdain for Mr. Obama.
Ehm, I hope you got the point that Obama personally orders the killings. How can that not result in a personal disdain? It SHOULD! Obama is morally corrupt.
As for solutions: Stop the murder? How about it? Nice side effect: It would make the US more safe.
Some strange mental contortions you're going through there. Finally some journalist is doing his job - finally some journalist stands on the sides of the victims - someone who shows empathy.
That is the way to peace, not the problem. The problem are people that push buttons without caring.
Watching mrl Scahill I could not help but wondeer as I always do when someone speaks about American Citizens who are working against our country, I simply don't understand what the fuss is about. The fact that we are Citizens of this country requires us to protect each other that age old slogan, "I Am My Brothers Keeper"
Being a citizen does not provide protection for going after other citizens in our country.
Mr. Scahill mentioned a young man involved, I am not familiar with this, however, neither is he. He failed to provide specifics as to why he would be in this situation.
Bottom line Citizenship mean an "Honor" to look out for and protect each other not to work against our own country. Should one do that, why is it our country's responsibility to protect those who would do such a thing?
You're missing the point. The point is that you don't know whether the 16 year old boy and his friends at the bbq went against US citizens.
It's a decision that Obama takes apparently on his own shoulders - so are you sure you want that? Are you sure Romney or whoever follows will use this power in the right way.
It is evidence and a jury who should decide over this - not a single person of the government.
Thank you, Chris, for including Mr. Scahill in the program. His anger is similar to my anger at the killing of American citizens without trial and the danger of the Drone program in total. I was also happy about your question to the candidate for congress from Hawaii about whether she can picture an end to hostilities. Apparently, she cannot. That is what all this has wrought. The next generation believes in the endless war started by Bush/Cheney and carried forward by Obama. Again, thank you, Chris, for discussing these important topics.
This is my first posting here. I tried a moment ago but it went astray somehow. So this might be a duplicate. I apologize if that is the case.
I want to thank Chris for including Mr. Scahill in the program. His anger reflects my anger at the assassinations of US citizens without due process as well as the increasing use of drones around the world. This will come back to bite us in the future. I was also happy about the question Chris put to the candidate from Hawaii about whether she can foresee a future beyond the endless war of Bush/Cheney and now Obama. Apparently, the brainwashing has worked - she cannot foresee such a future. These are all important issues that are not usually discussed. This is why I watch Up with Chris Hayes - to hear the difficult topics discussed. Thank you very much.
Watching ongoing horror show of voter suppression issues. Sad face inserted here. I have a thought: Why not use finger print or thumb print at all voting places? Everyone has one of those, it doesn't evolve driving anywhere, filing forms, opening checking accounts to pay for said forms(Pendot doesnt accept cash or debit cards- just checks) They can easily be scanned into a system, used to verify you haven't been to multiple locations, etc. I thought about it when I recently got something notarized and I had to put my thumbprint next to my signature in her notary book. And then I thought about the last time I wanted to cash a check at my bank rather than deposit it- they had me do a thumbprint on the back of it- and they know me there. And then I thought of when I accompanied a friend to get her check cashed at one of those check cashing places because she doesn't have a bank account- they took her thumb print. Seems that the data base technology already exists for "thumbprint control" or all of these entities wouldn't use it. I am baffled that those who are truly worried about voter fraud aren't concerned with absentee voters. Someone nefarious could intercept my requested ballot and fill it out and send it back with out me being the wiser. And even though my vagina has super powers- I don't think it would protect me from that?!
Jeremy's principled criticism is very refreshing.
